The Mayan's were big believers of many different Gods. They had a Rain God, The Sun God, Goddess, and the creator of all of the Gods. The God of rain named Chac was associated with the need for their crops and creation of life. There is also the Sun God named Kinich Ahau whose name was also Ah Xoc Kin, who was associated with poetry and music. A goddess that was also important to the Mayan's was the Suicide goddess that was called Ixtab. Ixtab was always represented with a rope around her neck. The Mayans believed that suicides would lead you to heaven.

Can-Ek was the last Mayan King to rule before the fall against the Spaniards. Can-Ek is a name that probably means Serpent-Star. According to the Mayan Can-Ek was a man different than the rest due to his posture and handsome complexion.
